Far-right figure Tommy Robinson has been arrested in connection with a violent incident that took place at London’s St Pancras railway station on 28 July.

British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed that a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire, widely understood to be Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was detained at Luton Airport on Monday evening.

Airport Arrest Following Return from Abroad

The arrest occurred shortly after 18:30 BST, following notification that the individual had boarded a flight arriving from Faro, Portugal. Police say he was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been taken into custody for questioning.

Authorities revealed the man had been wanted for questioning but had left the UK for Tenerife in the early hours of 29 July, just hours after the incident occurred.

Man Sustains Serious Injuries at King’s Cross Station

The alleged assault happened near the stairs leading to the northbound Thameslink platform at St Pancras station.

According to British Transport Police, the victim suffered “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” and was later discharged from the hospital.

Shortly after the incident, footage surfaced on social media showing Robinson pacing near a motionless man on the station floor. The clip did not capture the moment leading up to the man’s collapse.

In the video, Robinson can be seen heading back up the stairs, engaging briefly with a passerby who had stopped to help. He can be heard saying: “He’s come at me, bruv.”

No Formal Statement From Robinson Yet

While Robinson has continued to post actively on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account, he has yet to publicly comment on the arrest. He did, however, share a few supportive posts shortly after the police made their initial announcement.

Following the incident, Robinson was contacted by a BBC reporter seeking a statement. He replied with a one-word message: “slag.”

Tensions Surrounding the Arrest of a Controversial Figure

Tommy Robinson has long been a polarising figure in the UK, and this latest development has drawn significant public attention. His arrest at a major travel hub, after returning from abroad, adds another chapter to a history of legal and public controversies.

As investigations continue, British Transport Police have not released further details on the circumstances of the assault or whether additional charges may follow.
