Teyana Taylor Finds Solace and Purpose in Culinary School Journey
Rising star Teyana Taylor is stirring up further than just flavours; she’s serving up tone, care, remedy, and purpose through her latest adventure into culinary education.
The songster, actress, and creative force, known for her electric performances and bold creativity, has lately enrolled in a culinary academy.
Far from a transitory hobbyhorse, Taylor’s love for cuisine is embedded deep in nonage recollections and community spirit.
Speaking to Marie Claire, she said, “I’m so excited. Like, literally as soon as we get off this interview, I’m going straight to class. I’m putting on my coat, my uniform, and I’m getting to it.
It’s always been a passion of mine. I’ve always loved to cook. It’s been very therapeutic for me.”
For Taylor, cuisine isn’t just about preparing reflections; it’s about creating space for herself amidst an exciting life.

As a mama of two daughters, Junie, 9, and Rue, 5, she admits that making time for herself has been challenging.
“I don’t have the time to do it, but I have the time to show up for me,” she explained. “It’s ‘work’ in the best way because it’s something that you’re doing for you. It’s a passion that you’re turning into purpose.”
Her passion for cuisine isn’t new. Back in July, Taylor blazoned her registration on Instagram, participating a sportful videotape of herself in a cook’s chapeau and apron.
The post captured the excitement of turning a lifelong dream into reality. She wrote, “Wow… It’s really happening.
A dream I’ve carried in my heart for so long is finally becoming a reality, and I’m feeling every bit of it.”
In that same sincere post, she reflected on how cuisine has always been more than just preparing food; it’s been a form of remedy and joy.
“Cooking and baking have always been more than just hobbies for me; they’ve been my passion, my peace, my therapy.
Since I was a little girl, I remember being glued to whoever was in the kitchen while the other kids played around! Lol, watching all the amazing women in my life cook all our favorite meals with so much love and joy.
I must say I def got a cooking ass family lol That’s where it all started. And by the time I was 13/14, I was the ‘hood Betty Crocker’ in Harlem, baking cakes for the neighbours and anyone who asked.”
Despite the “twists and turns” that come with a career in entertainment and the demands of motherhood, Taylor finds comfort in the kitchen’s familiar rhythm.
“Through every twist and turn in my life and career, the kitchen has been a safe space,” she shared.
“So it was always a goal of mine to get my degree in Culinary Arts & Pastry Arts but I never got around to it due to my crazy work schedule, mommy life and simply life, life’nnnnnn lol but honestly finding my way back and going to school at this time is important because it’s the time where I get to show up for me.
No matter how excited life gets, I find comfort in the meter of it all, the mincing, the shifting, the creating. ”
With the culinary academy now a part of her life’s form, Taylor is embracing both the challenges and the joy that come with reconnecting to her roots.
It’s not just about cooking, it’s about mending, passion, and sculpting out time for herself in a world that infrequently pauses.
For suckers and followers, it’s a memorial that indeed, amidst success and liabilities, finding joy in the everyday, and making space for particular heartstrings is an important act of tone-love.
