Skyrim Grandma Announces Retirement Ahead of 90th Birthday
Shirley Curry, better known as Skyrim Grandma, has announced she’s retiring from making videos about The Elder Scrolls. At 89, she said her love for playing Skyrim has faded.
“This has come to this because I’ll soon be 90 years old. Every time I come up with a new idea for how to play a story in Skyrim…
I may make one or two or three with a new character, and then I’m bored again. So that’s why I’m going to stop uploading anything to do with Skyrim.”

Her career gained around 15 times, during which she became a cherished figure in the gaming world. Although she suggested at withdrawal last time, she returned compactly, giving suckers hope.
Earlier this summer, Shirley Curry tried Oblivion Remastered but had criticisms. With Elder Scrolls VI still not released, she’s stepping back again.
“I’m tired, I’m not having any fun with it anymore, probably because of all the little kids on there,” she said.
“All I get is, ‘Hi, grandma. I love you, Grandma.’ That isn’t what I was spending my time making and uploading videos for.” The community reacted with sadness.
“The end of an era. Looking forward to your next upload,” the official YouTube account said. Another fan commented, “Saddest day for all of the Skyrim community.”
Curry had previously urged Bethesda to release Elder Scrolls VI “before she dies.” Suckers will be pleased to know she’ll appear as an NPC in the forthcoming game, whenever it launches.
As Skyrim Grandma steps down, her heritage of warmth, humour, and passion for gaming remains. She isn’t just a gamer; she’s an icon, proving that love for videotape games knows no age.
