Police have launched an urgent appeal to locate a missing vulnerable man from Camden, last seen over 48 hours ago.
Bashir Marhoon, 35, was last spotted at his residence in Russell Square, Camden, at 6pm on Saturday, May 24. He was seen by his carers shortly before he disappeared. Bashir is a missing vulnerable man Camden authorities are deeply worried about.
Due to learning difficulties, he struggles with basic daily tasks and may not fully understand his actions or surroundings.
He is:
- 5ft 8in tall
- Of medium build
- Has black hair
- Walks with a limp
He was last seen wearing a navy baseball-style shirt with a red image, dark navy jogging bottoms, and black trainers.
The missing vulnerable man from Camden is known to have a keen interest in public transport. Police believe he could be travelling across the capital using his Oyster card. Despite sometimes interacting with strangers, Bashir may appear confused or distressed. Officers have urged the public to approach him with caution if spotted.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur, from the Metropolitan Police’s Central North Command, stated: “We are very worried about Bashir’s safety and would urge anyone who may have seen him to contact police. Please approach Bashir with care as he may be confused and suffers with learning difficulties.
Bashir’s family are understandably incredibly concerned. Local officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries in an effort to trace him and we are now turning to the public for help. Please get in touch if you have seen Bashir. As time passes, we are growing increasingly anxious about his welfare.”
His mother, Faridah, also made a desperate plea to the public: “We are very worried as he is very vulnerable and often rides the trains and buses to the end of the journey.
We urgently need the public’s help to find him. Please take a look at these images we are making public today and get in touch with the police if you have any information.”
