Leeds Close in on Dominic Calvert-Lewin Signing
Leeds United are on the brink of securing Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer after the striker’s exit from Everton, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The 28-year-old is set to undergo a medical at the club’s Thorp Arch training ground imminently, with final paperwork expected to follow soon.
Calvert-Lewin has been unattached since June, when he confirmed his departure from Goodison Park.
He spent nine years with Everton, netting 71 goals across 274 appearances. His time on Merseyside saw moments of brilliance tempered by frequent injury issues.
“Everton had tabled a new contract offer last summer, but negotiations failed to produce an agreement.”
The forward’s arrival would mark Leeds’ eighth signing this summer as Daniel Farke’s squad gears up for the Premier League.
The West Yorkshire side have already strengthened their attack with Lukas Nmecha from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. Calvert-Lewin would bring additional firepower and Premier League experience to Elland Road.
Capped 11 times by England and scoring four goals, Calvert-Lewin last appeared for the national team in 2021.
Leeds fans are now eagerly awaiting confirmation, hoping the former Toffees striker can spearhead their top-flight campaign.
