Alvaro Morata Set to Join Como Following Loan Termination Deal with Galatasaray

Alvaro Morata is on the brink of a new chapter as he prepares to join Como after Galatasaray agreed to a €5 million compensation fee to end his loan early, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Spanish forward, determined to return to Serie A, will sign a loan deal with Como that includes an obligation to buy for €10 million by June 2026.

Morata, who netted seven goals in 16 appearances for Galatasaray during the 2024/25 season, made the move to boost his chances of being selected for Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Sources reveal that the striker was insistent on joining Como, despite other clubs showing interest. The Serie A side outbid Fenerbahce, turning down a €4 million offer in the process.

The transfer process is moving swiftly, with Morata’s medical examination and travel authorisation scheduled for 9 August 2025. Notably, the player will reunite with former teammates Pepe Reina and Sergi Roberto at Como.

On the sidelines, AC Milan is pursuing further squad strengthening, with Zachary Athekame reportedly urging the Young Boys president to sanction a €10 million transfer to the Italian giants.

As the transfer window heats up, Morata’s move to Como marks a significant return to Italy for the striker keen on making an impact ahead of the World Cup.
