Mark Goldbridge Secures Landmark Deal to Broadcast Bundesliga Matches Alongside Gary Neville’s The Overlap

Mark Goldbridge, the Manchester United YouTuber who has become a household name for his fiery watch-alongs, has made history by securing broadcasting rights for Bundesliga matches this season.

Goldbridge, real name Brent Di Cesare, will share the rights with Gary Neville’s The Overlap, in what has been described as a groundbreaking move for football content creators.

The deal, which covers the 2025/26 campaign, means Goldbridge’s channels will officially stream live Bundesliga games in the UK.

From YouTube rants to official matches

Goldbridge first shot to fame through The United Stand, his fan-led Manchester United channel boasting over 2.15 million subscribers. Known for passionate rants, heated debates, and viral match reactions, he quickly grew into one of football’s most recognisable online personalities.

The Bundesliga has become the first major European football league to award part of its live broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom to a content creator, with That’s Football — a channel hosted by the online personality Mark Goldbridge — to show matches this season.

His spin-off channel, That’s Football, which explores the wider game, now joins an elite roster of Bundesliga broadcast partners, including Sky, BBC, and Amazon.

“That’s Football will stream 20 live Bundesliga matches on Friday nights as well as creating 34 weekly shows in 25/26 – the first creator channel with official league rights,” read a statement from the channel.

“A landmark deal putting That’s Football alongside Sky, BBC and Amazon in the Bundesliga UK strategy.”

YouTubers sitting with the big boys

This isn’t just another rights deal. It’s the first time a YouTube creator has been handed official live broadcasting rights to a major European league. For Goldbridge, it marks a transition from internet outsider to mainstream media figure.

Alongside The Overlap, fronted by Gary Neville with Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher, Goldbridge will bring Bundesliga action to a new audience in his own signature watch-along style.

BBC will continue to show free-to-air Friday fixtures. Sky Sports will retain their Saturday evening coverage, while Amazon takes the Sunday slots. The Bundesliga’s own YouTube channel will also host Friday night games.

Making millions and still dividing opinion

Goldbridge’s financial growth mirrors his media rise. Figures released last year showed his five companies held over £4 million in the bank at the end of 2023 – a £1.2 million increase in just 12 months.

Despite success, controversy has often followed. Former United defender Paul Parker once accused him of being a Nottingham Forest fan who “has no relationship to Man United” and even branded his influence “a problem”.

Alejandro Garnacho was disciplined by Erik ten Hag after liking one of Goldbridge’s critical posts last season, while Rasmus Hojlund’s interview with The United Stand earlier this year triggered backlash and even death threats aimed at Goldbridge.

Still, the audience keeps growing. And now, so does the platform.

Football media is changing fast

This move follows a wider trend. LaLiga recently granted Gary Lineker’s The Rest is Football podcast rights to show highlights in the UK. Broadcasters are no longer the only gatekeepers.

For Goldbridge, it’s validation. From being dismissed as “just a YouTuber”, he’s now part of the same conversation as Sky and Amazon.

And for fans? Friday nights just got a lot more interesting.
