‘Desperate’ Victoria Beckham in Tears as She Faced Millions in Losses, Netflix Docu-Series Reveals Heartbreaking Struggle
The glossy world of fashion isn’t always as glamorous as it seems, and Victoria Beckham’s new Netflix documentary lays that bare.
The British designer and former Spice Girl has opened up about the emotional turmoil behind the rise of her namesake fashion brand, revealing she was “breaking down” while her business was on the brink of collapse.
In the newly released docu-series Victoria Beckham on Netflix, the 50-year-old style icon offers a raw glimpse into the years when her empire was hanging by a thread.
Victoria confessed, “This business is everything to me. It’s absolutely who I am. But it’s been a hell of a journey.
All eyes on her.

I almost lost everything, and that was a dark, dark time. I used to cry before I went to work every day because I just felt like a firefighter.”
Those words echo a woman under immense pressure, one battling to keep her dream alive while fighting to hold herself together.
The series takes viewers back to 2016, a period when cracks in Beckham’s luxury label began to show.
With mounting losses and reports of financial troubles, Victoria finally opens up about just how dire things have become.
“We were tens of millions in the red,” she admitted. “Yes, I’m going home to my husband, but I’m going home to my business partner as well.
And so I would talk to him about it, I had to; he was invested, and I hated it, I absolutely hated it.”
The emotional toll spilled into her marriage with football legend David Beckham, who appears in the documentary to share his side.
“We both sat there and we looked at what I’d invested,” he recalls. “And I think part of that conversation broke my heart because Victoria is a proud woman.
So for her to have to come to me and say, ‘We need some more money, the business needs more money,’ that was hard for both of us.”
Victoria, described as “desperate” at the time, revealed she felt her “entire house was crashing down.” She added, “I was losing my business. I needed outside investment. I needed someone to help me.”
That lifeline came in the form of businessman David Belhassen, who later became her business partner.
In the Netflix documentary, he recalls his first impression of the brand and how a chance encounter changed everything.
He admitted the company was in a “very, very difficult situation” and even called it a “disaster” at first. His team had already decided not to invest.
“So after we closed the books, I said, ‘We’re not going to do it. Forget it. No way,” Belhassen said. But fate had other plans.
One night out with his wife changed his mind completely. “And then I go out with my wife on Saturday night and I see her. Stunning.
And I said, You know, ‘what are you wearing?’ ‘Victoria Beckham.’ I said ‘Are you buying a lot of Victoria Beckham?’ And she said, ‘Tons. I love it. It’s amazing.”
That simple moment reignited his interest. “And the flame lit there, it became a fire. And on Monday, I gathered the team and we said, ‘We have to do it.’”
Fast-forward to today, and Victoria Beckham’s label has become a fixture at Paris Fashion Week, celebrated for its sleek sophistication and timeless British flair.
The documentary doesn’t just showcase the struggle; it celebrates resilience, reinvention, and the sheer grit behind the glamour.
The Netflix series paints a portrait of a woman who, despite fame and fortune, faced real-world challenges like any entrepreneur — only under a global spotlight.
For fans of British fashion and pop culture, Victoria Beckham on Netflix is more than a story about clothes. It’s a story about courage, vulnerability, and a refusal to give up.
