Nikola Jokić Makes History with Fourth Straight Triple-Double as Nuggets Crush Pelicans
Denver Nuggets, Colorado, Nikola Jokić continues to redefine what dominance looks like in basketball. The Serbian star tallied yet another triple-double, powering the Denver Nuggets to a resounding 122–88 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night.
It wasn’t just a win, it was a statement. The Nuggets exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Pelicans 39–11, turning a close contest into a rout.
By the end of the night, Jokić had quietly logged 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, marking his fourth consecutive triple-double to start the season.
That feat now places him alongside legends Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook, the only other players to achieve four straight triple-doubles at the beginning of a campaign.
One more, and Jokić will stand alone. His next chance? Friday night, against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Nikola Jokić recorded yet another triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He has now recorded four triple-doubles in four games, tying a record set by Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook,” the team noted.
While Jokić was the orchestrator as usual, Christian Braun stepped up with a strong 17-point performance on 8-of-13 shooting, thriving in the pick-and-roll alongside the two-time MVP. His energy and timing were spot-on, a quiet but essential part of Denver’s fluid offense.
The Nuggets’ efficiency has been off the charts. They’ve now become the first team in NBA history to score 120 or more points while shooting above 50 percent from the field in each of their first four games of a season. That’s no fluke, that’s precision basketball.
As the defending champions, Denver seems unfazed by the pressure. Their chemistry looks sharp, their defense suffocating, and their leader, Jokić, remains in cruise control, calm, calculated, unstoppable.
With the way things are shaping up, breaking another record feels less like a question of if and more like when.
