Commuters, brace yourselves. A new wave of London Tube closures is set to affect journeys from Friday, May 16, through to Sunday, May 18. TfL is carrying out vital maintenance and upgrade works across several lines. Services on the underground, overground, DLR, and Elizabeth lines will be affected. Here’s everything you need to know about the planned London Tube closures so you can plan your route and avoid unnecessary delays.
Friday, May 16 – Early Disruptions Begin
Mildmay Line
- The 21:59 service from Stratford to Richmond will terminate early at Camden Road (22:19).
- The 23:17 train from Richmond to Willesden Junction will not operate.
Suffragette Line
- The 23:03 service from Barking Riverside to Gospel Oak will terminate at Upper Holloway at 23:38.
Saturday, May 17 – Major Line Closures
District Line
- No service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway on both Saturday and Sunday.
Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
- No trains between Poplar/Stratford International and Beckton/Woolwich Arsenal on both days.
Mildmay Line
- Services from Clapham Junction to Stratford at 21:04 and 22:34, and the 23:19 to Willesden Junction will not run.
Piccadilly Line
- Between 01:00 and 04:30 (approx.), a full line closure will be in place. Replacement buses will be available.
- From 04:30 Saturday and all day Sunday, no trains between Kings Cross St Pancras and Osterley/Uxbridge. Night Tube also affected.
Waterloo & City Line
- Closed on weekends and bank holidays. Service runs Monday to Friday, 06:00–00:30 only.
Sunday, May 18 – Limited Services and Reduced Frequencies
District Line
- Continued suspension between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway.
DLR
- No trains between Poplar/Stratford International and Beckton/Woolwich Arsenal.
Elizabeth Line
- Reduced services between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4/Maidenhead.
- Acton Main Line, West Ealing, and Hanwell stations will not be served.
- Two trains per hour to Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham, and Maidenhead.
- Four trains per hour to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3.
- Six trains per hour to Ealing Broadway, Southall, and Hayes & Harlington.
- Trains between Ealing Broadway and Langley may use alternative platforms.
Mildmay Line
- From 06:25, trains every 15 minutes between Camden Road and Stratford to support travel for the Hackney Half-Marathon.
Piccadilly Line
- No service between Kings Cross St Pancras and Osterley/Uxbridge all day, including Night Tube.
Waterloo & City Line
- Reminder: no weekend service.
