John Bishop Returns to Birmingham for 25-Year Stand-Up Milestone – Tickets from Just £25
Comedy fans in the Midlands have reason to celebrate. John Bishop is bringing his 25 Years of Stand Up tour to Birmingham’s Utilita Arena this Friday, marking a quarter of a century in the business. And the best news? Tickets are still available for as little as £25.
It all began on 2 October 2000, when a youthful John Bishop stepped onto the stage at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester for his very first gig.
By day, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry. By night, he held a microphone and intentionally set off a career that would take him across arenas worldwide.
Now, 25 years later, Bishop is back with a brand-new stint celebrating his corner. Every show on the stint, including Birmingham, will feature tickets priced at just£ 25, a gesture to thank the suckers who have supported him along the way.
John Bishop said: “I can’t believe that next year it will be 25 years since I first performed at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester.
It’s been a rollercoaster! And I can’t thank the fans enough who have supported me all the way.
I wanted to mark the anniversary with a brand-new tour and do something to say thank you, so every ticket throughout the tour will be £25. I really hope you can come and celebrate with me.”
Since that first humble performance, Bishop’s career has skyrocketed. Within three years, he was filling arenas and released the fastest-selling stand-up DVD in UK history.
His television work has been equally impressive, with shows such as John Bishop’s Australia (BBC1), John Bishop’s Britain (BBC1), John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky1), and the critically acclaimed John Bishop: In Conversation With… (W Channel).
He has also appeared on Doctor Who (BBC1) and fronted documentaries including John & Joe Bishop: Life After Deaf (ITV1).
Birmingham audiences will have the chance to see him live at Utilita Arena on Friday, 17 October, with a second show scheduled for Saturday, 8 November.
