Police Appeal IntensifiesA Familiar Face Gone Missing

Police are urgently seeking help from the public after a 59-year-old man vanished from Shenley on Tuesday evening.

Gary was last spotted around 7:30 p.m. on October 7, stepping out of a taxi near Bell Lane in London Colney. Since then, there’s been no trace of him, sparking growing concern from family and officers.

He is described as approximately 6ft tall, with grey hair and stubble.

At the time of his disappearance, Gary was wearing:

  • A grey hoodie
  • Beige chino trousers
  • Brown shoes
  • A distinctive blue hat with a yellow Arsenal logo

Police Appeal Intensifies

Hertfordshire Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen Gary, or who has information about his whereabouts, to come forward.

“If you have seen Gary since he was reported missing, or have any information about where he has been,” police urge, “please report it online at herts.police.uk/report.”

They’ve also advised alternative ways to reach out:

  • Speak to an officer via the Force Communications Room using the web chat at herts.police.uk/contact
  • Call the non-emergency number 101, quoting “ISR 4 of 8 October, 2025”

However, if you’ve seen Gary just recently or believe you’re with him now, dial 999 immediately.

A Familiar Face Gone Missing

Locals in Shenley and London Colney are being asked to stay alert. Taxi drivers, shopkeepers, dog walkers—anyone out and about during Tuesday evening—may have unknowingly witnessed something important.

This isn’t the first time the community has rallied behind a missing persons case. Shenley residents are known for keeping a close eye on their neighbours and supporting each other in times of need.

Gary’s friends describe him as kind and soft-spoken. His disappearance has left loved ones anxious and hoping for a swift and safe return.

Cases like these often hinge on the smallest detail. A passerby noticed a familiar jacket. A CCTV camera captures a crucial moment. Someone sees a man in a blue Arsenal cap walking alone.

Police continue to comb the area and follow leads, but public help remains vital.

Stay tuned to UK News Blog for updates as the search continues. Let’s help bring Gary home.
