Weather Alert: Rainy Days Set to Linger in Aberystwyth

Weather turns soggy in Aberystwyth as unsettled week begins

Weather conditions have taken a gloomy turn in Aberystwyth as a week of damp skies and unpredictable rain kicks off. Locals woke up today to misty drizzle and a grey canvas overhead, with midday temperatures lingering around 16°C.

It’s a dreary start, and while the skies may attempt a brighter spell later this afternoon, thick cloud cover is set to cling on well into the evening.

The Met Office has issued forecasts showing little improvement overnight. Though heavier showers are expected to ease by sunset, don’t pack away that brolly just yet.

“Rain likely today and moderate showers tomorrow”, say forecasters, giving little hope for dry spells in the immediate future.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, Aberystwyth can expect moderate rainfall teamed with a gentle breeze, as thermometers edge up slightly to around 17°C.

While short-lived sunny intervals might peek through, they’re likely to be sandwiched between steady downpours, particularly around mid-morning. So, those heading out early may want to dress for wet and windy.

Midweek offers a small breather. Wednesday kicks off with more of that familiar drizzle, but by midday, clearer skies may start pushing through.

It’s not exactly beach weather, but with highs around 18°C and gentler winds, it’ll feel a touch more settled. With luck, some sunshine might even break through by late afternoon.

Thursday, however, throws us right back into the wet pattern. Intermittent rain and stubborn clouds dominate, though the late hours may tease a few breaks in the overcast.

Temperatures will hover near 17°C. The morning commute could be soggy, but conditions may improve slightly as the day wears on.

By Friday, temperatures dip again to around 15°C. The end of the working week begins with more scattered showers. Breezy gusts continue, but as the afternoon arrives, the skies could start to part, revealing a glimmer of sunshine for a change.

The weekend’s forecast remains uncertain, but fingers crossed for a drier stretch.

UK weather watchers, particularly in Wales, should brace for continued unsettled conditions through the week. Keep those raincoats close and wellies by the door, summer’s not done teasing just yet.
