A EuroMillions ticket bought in Fife has left lottery officials scratching their heads, as a jaw-dropping £3.6 million prize still hasn’t been claimed.
The winning ticket, purchased for the draw held on Friday, 13 June, matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star. The numbers drawn were 2, 28, 40, 43, 45, with the Lucky Stars being 3 and 7.
Despite the life-changing sum at stake, no one has come forward. The clock is ticking, with the winner having until 10 December 2025 to claim their prize.
“It’s time to search through handbags, purses, trouser pockets and the car – everywhere and anywhere – as a ticket is lurking which is worth £3.6M,” said Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery.
Local Appeal for Ticket Hunt
Carter has called on everyone in the Fife area to double-check their belongings. He added, “It’s not every day you’re sitting on a multi-million-pound ticket without knowing it. Someone out there is incredibly lucky – they just need to realise it.”
This particular draw saw the biggest EuroMillions jackpot ever available in the UK and Ireland, with the total capped at €250 million (£208 million). The main prize rolled over after no player hit the full jackpot.
Across Ireland alone, over 92,000 participants bagged prizes in both EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus games on the same night.
Lost Ticket? There’s Still Hope
If the winning ticket has been misplaced or lost, there might still be a chance. Allwyn states that players who believe they hold a legitimate claim can submit it in writing within 30 days from the draw date.
Should the prize remain unclaimed after the deadline, the funds, along with any accrued interest, will be redirected to National Lottery-funded community projects throughout the UK.
Anyone in or around Fife is being urged to give their pockets and glove boxes a second look. A multi-million pound fortune could be closer than they think.
