Tucker Carlson Sparks Outrage with Remarks at Charlie Kirk Memorial
An honorary service for Charlie Kirk, the 31- time-old author of Turning Point USA, has sparked contestation after commentary made by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Knockouts of thousands attended the service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to recognize Kirk following his assassination on 10 September 2025 in Utah.
During his eulogy, Carlson drew a comparison between Kirk’s death and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He described a scene “2000 years ago in Jerusalem,” where Jesus faced opposition from those in power for speaking the truth.
Carlson said, “I can picture the scene… a bunch of guys eating hummus, thinking, ‘What do we do about this guy telling the truth about us?’” Many interpreted this as a veiled reference to Jewish individuals, considering the historical context of Jesus’ crucifixion.

The comment, delivered with laughter, prompted accusations of anti-Semitism. One social media user remarked, “Qatralson blames the Jews for killing Jesus during Charlie Kirk’s memorial, equating it to Charlie’s murder,” highlighting the perceived link between historical and contemporary events.
Sympathizers of Carlson argue that his words were misunderstood, claiming he intended to punctuate the struggles faced by verity-tellers rather than target any specific group.
Nonetheless, the timing and phrasing of the comment have reignited debates over his once comments. The keepsake, attended by over 90,000 people, featured speeches from prominent figures, including former President Donald Trump and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk.
Trump condemned the assassination as an attack on American values and promised nippy justice. Erika Kirk expressed remission towards the suspect and pledged to continue her husband’s work as the new CEO of Turning Point USA.
The incident has fuelled a wider discussion about the limits of free speech, political rhetoric, and responsibility in public discourse.
