Trump Escalates Feud With Rosie O’Donnell After Epstein Posts Spark Outrage
Donald Trump has reignited his decades-long feud with Rosie O’Donnell, posting a heavily distorted image of the comedian just hours after she spoke out online about the Epstein files.
The 79-year-old president shared the manipulated picture late Wednesday on Truth Social. The image had been stretched, with extra hair crudely edited onto O’Donnell’s chin.
The move followed mounting criticism that Trump was attempting to “distract” from renewed attention on Jeffrey Epstein’s network and the recent release of case documents.
Trump doubles down
In his latest tirade, Trump threatened O’Donnell’s US citizenship, writing: “As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship. She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!”

O’Donnell, 63, wasted little time in firing back. On Instagram, she posted the same altered image, mocking Trump with a reference to Logan Roy from Succession: “banishing me again? Logan Roy would be proud.
I’m the distraction – EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting. only rosie o’donnell.”
Epstein files and Instagram fury
The comedian, who relocated to Ireland earlier this year, has been outspoken on social media since the fresh wave of Epstein documents hit headlines.
She reposted material from actor Steven Weber declaring “HE IS WAGING WAR ON AMERICA,” alongside graphics critical of Trump shared by Gavin Newsom and others.
Another post referenced “86’ing 47” – a coded phrase once linked to speculation about Trump’s safety – something the former FBI chief James Comey was previously questioned about.
O’Donnell also uploaded a photo from a White House press briefing with the caption: “alive n well.”
A feud stretching back to 2006
The Trump–O’Donnell rivalry is no new affair. Their bitter exchanges date back to 2006 when O’Donnell, then on The View, called Trump “the moral authority” sarcastically after he defended a Miss USA contestant caught in scandal.
Trump, in turn, has hurled insults at her repeatedly over the years.
Since Trump’s election victory, O’Donnell has grown increasingly vocal. In January, she cited his hardline political agenda and its potential impact on her non-binary child as the reason she left the US for Ireland.
Back in July, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.
She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
O’Donnell’s response was characteristically blunt, labelling him “a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity.”
Targeted for 20 years
Speaking to Australian television last month, O’Donnell said she had long been a target: “Trump has had a thing for me for 20 years, he’s been very derogatory and slanderous…
It affected me very much when he was in office last time. When he got the nomination I knew I had to take care of myself and my mental health and my children.”
She added that Ireland had given her “the warmth of an entire nation” and confirmed the move was “definitely political.”
Trump’s meme spree
The O’Donnell attack was just one of several bizarre posts from Trump’s social media binge on Wednesday.
Other targets included California governor Gavin Newsom, who was shown wearing a “Trump 2028” cap, and Democrat Adam Schiff, depicted with an elongated neck. There was also an AI-generated video of Trump at Mount Rushmore.
While speculation continues about the president’s health, his White House doctor insisted earlier this year that Trump is “in excellent health.”
For now, the row with Rosie O’Donnell appears far from over. And with both figures doubling down online, the drama shows no sign of cooling.
