Transport for London (TfL) has rolled out some innovative updates to its TfL Go app, giving commuters more control and better information while travelling across London.
The changes aim to make peregrinations smoother, whether you’re hopping on the Tube, catching a wagonette, or checking machine connections.
New TfL Go App Updates Make London Travel Easier
The biggest addition is real-time line status announcements. Now, druggies can admit cautions straight to their phones if their chosen Tube, wagonette, or rail line faces delays or dislocations.
Announcements can be customised by line and time of day, and indeed break when you’re down on vacation or outside London. All of this is easy to manage via the account menu or status board.

The app has also refreshed how upcoming train arrivals are shown for the Tube, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), and wagonettes.
By tapping on a station, trippers can now see services grouped by direction and destination, making it far easier to figure out which train or wagonette to take.
Stay in Control with Real-Time Travel Updates
Emma Strain, TfL’s customer director, said: “We know how important it is for our customers to feel in control of their journeys, and these new TfL Go features are all about making that easier.
Whether it’s getting real-time notifications on your line or checking which bus stop to head to next while on the Tube, these updates give our customers the information they need, right when they need and want it most.”
In a move that will delight bus users, TfL recently improved access to bus stop information. Previously, the app only showed stops near your GPS location.
Now, Londoners can move the map to any area and check bus arrival times anywhere in the city. Disrupted or closed stops are clearly marked, while iOS users can view full bus routes, search for specific stops, and save favourites for quick access. Android support for these features is on the way.
With these updates, the TfL Go app is becoming more than just a travel companion; it’s a handy London commuting app that keeps passengers informed in real time, whether they’re planning their morning Tube ride or catching a bus across town.
