Steven Gerrard Back as Rangers Favorite Despite Rejecting Ibrox Return
Rangers suckers were left in shock this morning as Steven Gerrard once again came the bookmakers’ favorite to take charge at Ibrox, despite having turned down the job just days agone.
Last week, the Rangers parted ways with Russell Martin following a string of disappointing results. Gerrard, 45, incontinently surfaced as a top contender to return to the dugout.
He flew in from Bahrain for talks with senior club officials, including chairman Andrew Cavenagh, sparking excitement among supporters.
Things looked promising until Saturday night, when Gerrard pulled out of the running, stating that “the timing wasn’t right to make his Ibrox return.” He promptly returned to Bahrain, seemingly ending hopes of a comeback.

In a dramatic twist, Gerrard has now surged back to the top of the bookies’ lists. Odds that had once stood at 20/1 have collapsed to evens in many markets, and he was briefly odds-on with William Hill. The sudden shift has left fans baffled and intrigued in equal measure.
A spokesperson for Coral commented: “Despite ruling himself out of the job just a few days ago, Steven Gerrard has been heavily backed in our next Rangers manager market this morning. Gerrard is now just evens to return to Ibrox for a second spell in charge.”
While Gerrard’s name dominates betting headlines, several other candidates remain in the frame.
Kevin Muscat, a former Rangers player, has been the bookmakers’ favourite with several enterprises, though timing issues with his current directorial commitments may delay formal addresses.
Danny Rohl, a 36- time-old trainer, is also under serious consideration, and Slaven Bilic, who has been out of work since leaving Saudi club Al Fateh 14 months agone, has reportedly expressed interest in returning to football operations.
Social media has been awash with confusion. One supporter asked: “Right, what’s happening? Gerrard an option again?” Another tweeted: “Can anyone explain the latest Gerrard odds?”
Despite the query, there’s no denying the buzz surrounding the former Rangers captain’s implicit return.
The directorial race at Ibrox remains wide open. Gerrard’s unanticipated rise in the laying requests has added a fresh subcaste of conspiracy, keeping suckers and pundits fused to the unfolding story.
