Queen Camilla elegantly marked Easter Sunday, attending the Easter Matins Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor wearing a graceful pale blue coat dress complemented by a beautifully adorned rose-trimmed hat.

The headpiece was the work of acclaimed Irish-born milliner Philip Treacy, a designer who has enjoyed a close relationship with the Queen for over 20 years. Her coat dress was crafted by Fiona Clare Couture, another favourite of the Queen’s wardrobe.

Philip Treacy, originally from Ahascragh, County Galway, has been a go-to designer for Queen Camilla since the early 2000s. His striking headwear has accompanied her to numerous royal occasions, cementing his place as a trusted name in royal fashion.

Queen Camilla famously chose two distinctive Treacy hats for her wedding to then-Prince Charles in 2005 — a lace and feather wide-brimmed piece for the civil ceremony, and a bold, golden feathered creation for the blessing ceremony at the same chapel she returned to this Easter.

Since then, Treacy’s hats have been seen gracing the Queen at a host of key events, including:

  • Royal Ascot
  • Remembrance Sunday services
  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s easter wedding in 2018

This enduring partnership was formally recognised earlier this year when Queen Camilla granted Philip Treacy a Royal Warrant — a prestigious seal of approval given to select suppliers of the Royal Household.

The honour highlights not only her admiration for his creative vision but also his consistent excellence in craftsmanship.

Born in 1967 in County Galway, Philip Treacy has risen to become one of the most influential figures in contemporary millinery.

His creative journey began at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, followed by advanced studies at the Royal College of Art in London.

In the early 1990s, he launched his own label, quickly attracting the attention of high-profile names such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, Daphne Guinness, and numerous royals.

Renowned for his dramatic, sculptural designs and technical artistry, Treacy’s creations have featured on international runways in fashion capitals like Paris and New York. He has also collaborated with top fashion houses including Chanel, Valentino, and Alexander McQueen.

Operating from his London-based studio, Treacy offers both bespoke and ready-to-wear collections to a global clientele. His brand has since expanded to include bridal pieces, accessories, and licensed commercial designs.

In recognition of his contributions to fashion, he was awarded an OBE in 2007. The Royal Warrant from Queen Camilla in 2024 adds yet another accolade to his celebrated career.

Queen Camilla’s continued support of Philip Treacy underscores not only her personal style preferences but also a deep appreciation for British and Irish design excellence. Their enduring collaboration reflects a fusion of tradition and innovation, perfectly encapsulated in her Easter Sunday ensemble.
