Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: No UK Return Despite Quiet Peace Talks
Amid whispers of reconciliation and a highly discreet London summit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made it clear — the UK is not in their future plans.
Speculation had been swirling. Some thought the recent back-channel talks between the Sussexes’ aides and King Charles’s staff might be the beginning of a royal homecoming. Not quite.
Instead, sources close to the couple confirm they are firmly rooted in California. “They’re very happy living in and raising their family in California and, as it stands, have no plans to leave.”
That quote, shared via GB News, puts an end to the mounting rumours. Their sunny Montecito life, complete with two young royals — Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — appears to be all the Duke and Duchess need.
Last week’s private sit-down at a members-only club in London marked a significant step. It was the first formal meeting in years between representatives from both sides of the royal divide. A senior source said the timing just felt right.
“Everyone just wants to move on and move forward now. It was finally the right time for the two sides to talk.”
But not everyone was involved. Notably absent? Prince William and Kate Middleton’s team. Their exclusion was no accident.
“It’s no coincidence that William and Catherine did not have a representative at the Royal Overseas League… They were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution.”
And in a rather telling remark: “The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.”
This measured caution from the Waleses suggests that not everyone’s ready to reconcile just yet.
Despite the frost, Harry has publicly voiced his desire to patch things up with the Royal Family. “I would love a reconciliation… but [the King] won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.” he told media in May.
Still, the road ahead looks steep. There’s a lot of ground to cover and plenty of royal wounds still raw.
So for now, don’t expect a Sussex return to British soil. California remains home. The olive branch may be extended — but whether it’s accepted, remains to be seen.
