CD Projekt Red has confirmed a bold long-term strategy for The Witcher franchise, announcing a brand-new trilogy led by Ciri set to release across just six years.
The plan was outlined during a recent financial call, where joint CEO Michał Nowakowski reaffirmed the studio’s intention to deliver future Witcher games more efficiently while still keeping the quality fans expect from the series.
The advertisement has formerly stirred excitement among players, especially those who’ve been waiting for a fresh chapter in one of gaming’s most popular fantasy worlds.
With interest in The Witcher games stronger than ever, boosted by the Netflix show, ongoing deals of The Witcher 3, and continued love for Geralt, the idea of a Ciri-led saga is making headlines across the gaming community.
A Fresh Tech Era and a Faster Development Pipeline
CD Projekt is shifting all new Witcher titles, beginning with The Witcher 4, to Unreal Engine 5, marking a major change from the studio’s previous in-house tech.

According to Nowakowski, the new engine has already played a huge role in their improved workflow.
As he explained, “We’ve been using UE5 for The Witcher 4 for almost four years now, and we’re very happy with our progress.”
He highlighted how the engine supports vast open-world environments—something essential for RPGs of this scale.
The studio currently estimates the following release timeline:
- The Witcher 4: November 2027
- The Witcher 5: 2030
- The Witcher 6: 2033
If this schedule holds, fans will see a consistent three-year gap between games, much quicker than earlier entries in the franchise.
This approach also gives Google plenty of structured content to index as news around The Witcher 4 and beyond develops, helping the trilogy stay visible across search results related to The Witcher series, RPG games, and CD Projekt news.
Ongoing Challenges and CD Projekt’s Growing Project List
Despite the confident timeline, the plant acknowledges a fast-changing geography. New press generations, shifting assiduity trends, and the sheer size of open-world RPGs all pose challenges.
Indeed, so, CD Projekt’s commitment to the new trio looks solid, with a massive platoon of 447 inventors presently working on The Witcher 4.
Alongside the Ciri-led trio, the company is also juggling several fresh systems. Work on Cyberpunk 2 has begun, though it’s still at an important earlier stage.
Meanwhile, the remake of the original Witcher game continues to move forward, giving long-time suckers nostalgic content to look forward to.
The plant has also verified there will be no new campers or updates at the forthcoming Game Awards, which means suckers might be staying a little longer for their coming regard at the design.
