A quiet Sunday evening in Lexington turned deadly after a man was fatally shot on Bryan Station Road.
The incident unfolded just before midnight, at around 11:55 p.m., in the 1700 block of the road. Responding officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will confirm his identity in due course.
Police moved quickly. Within a short time, they arrested 30-year-old Keaira Pennie. She now faces a murder charge and is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
