It’s finally here, the John Lewis Christmas advert 2025. The most anticipated festive ad in Britain has dropped, and this year, it’s full of 90s nostalgia, music, and heartfelt emotion.
The advert brings a touching story between a teenage boy and his dad, connected through the gift of a vinyl record. It’s simple, warm, and packed with those familiar John Lewis feels.
This year’s soundtrack? Alison Limerick’s classic “Where Love Lives” has been beautifully reimagined by Labrinth. A perfect blend of rhythm and emotion that captures the spirit of Christmas.
A Simple Gift With a Big Meaning
The story, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, shows a teenager, headphones on, in his own world, giving his dad a record from his youth.
Later, the dad finds the gift under the wrapping mess: a vinyl marked “Dad :)”. As he plays it, memories flood back, dancing in 90s clubs, raising his son, and the joy of connection.
The ad ends with an awkward but heartfelt hug. Real. Honest. Beautifully British.

Rosie Hanley, John Lewis brand director, explained: “This year’s John Lewis Christmas campaign is a celebration of connection, memory, and the unspoken emotions that make the season truly magical.
At John Lewis, we understand the power of a thoughtful gift, and we hope the ad will inspire our customers to find the gift that articulates their feelings, allowing the present itself to speak volumes where words may sometimes fall short.”
Music That Brings People Together
For Saatchi & Saatchi’s chief creative officer Franki Goodwin, the track was the heart of it all: “Music is always the beating heart of the John Lewis campaign at Christmas, but this year it’s the gift itself…
I hope it inspires lots of thoughtful, expressive gifting and some family trawls through old playlists on Christmas Day too.”
Singer Alison Limerick was thrilled to see her classic revived: “I squealed when I heard that Where Love Lives would be in the advert, literally squealed like an excited child… His gentle version is just so beautiful, it’s sure to fill the heart with love.”
Labrinth added: “To think a boy like me from east London, Hackney, who grew up watching this iconic advert, would one day reimagine a classic and compose a piece of music for John Lewis’s forward-thinking direction is a big deal for me.”
Giving Back This Christmas
The special vinyl, priced at £14.99, will be sold exclusively through Rough Trade at John Lewis. Side A features Limerick’s original track, while Side B has Labrinth’s new version.
Every penny of profit will go to the John Lewis Partnership’s Building Happier Futures program, which supports young adults who’ve grown up in care.
