Islington nursery gears up for a fresh start this September
Bright Horizons Floral Place Day Nursery and Preschool, tucked away in the heart of Islington, is preparing to welcome back its little learners following a full-scale renovation.
The relaunch, set for September 2025, marks a new chapter for the nursery, complete with a dedicated toddler room — a first for the setting.
Previously, toddlers shared the same space with the preschool group. Now, the upgraded layout introduces separate, age-focused areas designed to better cater to developmental needs. The aim? Simple: provide “more tailored activities and learning experiences.”
It’s part of Bright Horizons’ broader vision. Their “Nurture Approach” prioritises warm, welcoming spaces that feel like a second home. The renovated nursery will feature soft, neutral palettes, natural wood accents, and child-centred furnishings handpicked to support learning through play.
The toddler room, in particular, is designed to encourage independence. Expect low-level shelves, open storage units, and cosy nooks filled with soft cushions — ideal for quiet time.
Tom Browne, Regional Director for London and East Division at Bright Horizons, shared his excitement: “We’re so excited to be reopening the doors to Floral Place very soon.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the setting will have a refreshed new look and feel. We want to create a vibrant, inspiring space where children can thrive and our team can deliver exceptional care and education.”
The reopening comes at a key moment. With childcare costs on the rise, many UK families are tapping into government-funded nursery schemes. These initiatives aim to ease the financial burden on working parents and make quality early education more accessible.
For local families in Islington, the return of Floral Place couldn’t be more timely.
