Fake e-Visa Website Poses Major Risk, Fiji Immigration Warns
Fiji’s Immigration Ministry has raised the alarm over a counterfeit website masquerading as the nation’s official e-visa portal. The ministry described the site as a “serious threat” to both public safety and national security.
The fraudulent platform, registered on 24 June 2025, has been illegally collecting personal data from unsuspecting users. Aliki Salusalu, Permanent Secretary of Immigration, issued a firm warning in a statement on 7 August.
“This unauthorised and deceptive site, which was registered on 24 June 2025, is in no way affiliated to the Fijian Government or the Ministry of Immigration. It has been deliberately created to mislead and defraud individuals seeking immigration or visa-related services.”
The ministry is actively collaborating with law enforcement and cyber intelligence agencies to track down the operators of the fake site and reduce the potential harm it may cause.
Travelers and visa applicants are urged to verify they are using only official websites with the “.gov.fj” domain — the exclusive web address for Fijian government services.
This warning serves as a critical reminder to remain vigilant against evisa scams, which can compromise personal security and disrupt legitimate immigration processes.
For anyone applying for visas to Fiji, double-checking the website address could save you from falling victim to fraud.
