Ben Ofoedu Ties the Knot with Vanessa Brown in Lavish UK Castle Wedding
Ben Ofoedu is officially off the market – and he’s never looked happier. The former fiancé of TV personality Vanessa Feltz has married his 29-year-old partner, Vanessa Brown, in a romantic and star-studded ceremony at the majestic Rose Castle in Cumbria.
The former Phats & Small frontman, best known for the 1999 chart-topper Turn Around, exchanged vows in front of music industry royalty on Wednesday. And yes, it was every bit the fairytale he’d hoped for.
“This is the finale of the chapter that was 17 years of my life,” Ben told MailOnline. “I have always wanted to be married since I was seven years old. I always wanted to be with someone who would take my surname… I can’t believe the day has come, it is a dream come true.”
The couple’s love story has moved at lightning speed. They first met just a year ago at a Christmas party, introduced by none other than Boyzone’s Keith Duffy. Sparks flew instantly, though they kept it platonic until Ben became single in late 2023.
Fast forward to Valentine’s Day in New York this year — Ben popped the question near Central Park’s iconic Bow Bridge. The very same spot from Elf, Vanessa’s favourite film.
“I had absolutely no idea so it was quite a shock. I thought he’d maybe fell over or something,” Vanessa laughed.
Since then, the pair have been inseparable, planning their dream wedding with an “all-out” approach. Ben wasn’t shy about the budget either. “You only get married once,” he declared in April.
Guests arrived the night before for a lively pre-wedding bash. Think free-flowing drinks, music and laughter – a proper send-off into married life. The next day, the formal ceremony took place against the backdrop of Rose Castle’s grand architecture and sweeping gardens.
There was live entertainment – from bagpipers to saxophonists – and even talk of a carousel. A marquee was specially erected for a post-vows celebration, while the following day saw guests enjoy a farewell brunch.
The wedding was full of familiar faces. Shane Lynch played Best Man duties with wife Sheena by his side. Also spotted: Brian McFadden, Dani Park, Keith and Lisa Duffy, Bradley McIntosh of S Club, Five’s Abz, Dane Bowers, and Lee Brennan of 911.
One insider told The Sun: “Ben’s never been happier. He’s always wanted to get married and knew Vanessa was the one instantly.”
Ben’s previous 16-year relationship with Vanessa Feltz ended in 2023 after a well-publicised breakup, but he’s made it clear – this new chapter is everything he ever hoped for.
“I almost gave up on marriage, thinking there wasn’t a lady that would walk down the aisle for me,” he admitted.
Now, he and Vanessa Brown are aligned in life – and in future dreams. Children? “If we’re blessed enough, two would be ideal. A boy and a girl – best of both worlds,” Ben said.
From heartbreak to healing, and now to happily ever after – Ben Ofoedu’s story is one of resilience, romance, and finding love again when you least expect it.
