An urgent search is underway for three inmates who fled from HMP Springhill earlier this week. Authorities have warned the public not to approach the men, who have now been missing for several days.
The trio, identified as Jason MacDonagh, 34, Daniel Harty, 34, and Barney Casey, 24, escaped from the open prison at approximately 6pm on Monday, according to Thames Valley Police.
Police have released details to help the public identify the fugitives:
- Jason MacDonagh is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall with a medium build. He has ginger hair and facial hair. At the time of his escape, he was wearing grey tracksuit trousers and a white vest.
- Barney Casey, also white and about 5ft 9ins tall, is of smaller build. He has black hair and slight facial hair, including a moustache and goatee. He was last spotted in a grey tracksuit.
- Daniel Harty is white, slim, and stands at roughly 5ft 9ins. He has black hair and a black beard. He was seen wearing a blue jacket and grey joggers.

Investigators believe the men may have connections across several regions, including Bristol, the West Midlands, Leicestershire, Leeds, Bradford, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.
Police staff investigator Claire Busby issued a plea to the public: “We are appealing to the public for any information around MacDonagh, Casey and Harty’s whereabouts, or anyone who may see them to get in touch. We would advise members of the public not to approach them but call 999 instead.”
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police on 101 or submit details online, referencing case number 43250312586. For those preferring to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
Police efforts to locate the fugitives continue as concerns grow over their prolonged absence.
