Essex Police have launched a public appeal following a violent attack in Tilbury that left two men injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, in the Broadway area, sparking widespread concern across the community.
According to police reports, the two men were struck with a piece of wood at approximately 12.30am. The altercation, which was partially captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, showed individuals with distinct Irish accents.
Police are treating this as a serious assault, though fortunately, both victims received medical treatment and did not sustain life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
In a statement, Essex Police said: “Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in connection with an ongoing investigation into two serious assaults in Tilbury.”
They added: “It was reported two men were struck with a large item described as a piece of wood, causing injury. Both victims have received treatment and thankfully have not suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.”
The force has released two images of the man they wish to identify, urging members of the public to come forward with any relevant information.
Detectives are actively investigating the violent attack in Tilbury and are pursuing several lines of enquiry. Officers have asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or phone footage to come forward.
