The public is urged to assist in locating missing girls aged 12 and 13. An urgent search operation is underway in Buckinghamshire after two young girls went missing on their way to school.
Elina, 13, and Keyra, 12, both from the village of Steeple Claydon, were last seen in the Buckingham area at approximately 8.20am on Tuesday morning. The pair were reportedly wearing their school uniforms at the time they vanished.
Thames Valley Police have launched a full-scale search and are appealing to the public for help.
Inspector Oliver Brixey expressed his growing concern: “We are growing extremely concerned for both Elina and Keyra’s welfare as they have not been seen since Tuesday.
We have been working hard to find them both since they were reported missing earlier today but now we need the public’s help. I am appealing for anyone with information on their whereabouts to please come forward. If you see them, please call 999.”
Authorities have released a description of Keyra in the hopes that someone may recognise her. She is described as:
- Approximately 5ft 3ins tall
- Slim build
- Long, wavy, dark brown hair
No further physical details about Elina have been shared at this stage.
Police Message to the Girls
Inspector Brixey also made a direct plea to the girls, urging them to get in touch: “I would also like to appeal to Elina and Keyra. You are not in any trouble at all, but we are really concerned for you. Please contact us or your families to let us know where you are. We want to know that you are safe.”
The local community has begun sharing the girls’ details across social media platforms in hopes of spreading the word quickly. Concerned residents are rallying together in support of the families and the search effort.
As hours turn into days, the urgency to locate Elina and Keyra grows stronger. With limited leads and heightened concern for their well-being, police officers are urging anyone who may have seen the girls or who holds any relevant information to act swiftly.
If you know anything that could help bring Elina and Keyra home safely, contact Thames Valley Police immediately by dialling 999.
