Reviewers have lauded the consoles’ performance, particularly the full-screen Xbox experience that cleverly hides the desktop and Explorer to free up memory.
A recently released trailer showcased the handheld’s capabilities. Players can expect smooth gameplay on titles like Forza Horizon 5, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and other demanding, graphics-heavy games. Rumour has it, the devices will also manage Forza Horizon 6 without breaking a sweat.
Pricing for the ROG Xbox Ally is as follows $599.99 in the U.S., $799 CAD in Canada,€ 599 in Europe,£ 499 in the UK, and $799 AUD in Australia.

It’s surprising, if not shocking, that a handheld device like the Xbox Ally X costs more than many traditional consoles. Even the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is priced at around $450, prompting some gamers to raise eyebrows.
Come to think of it, Microsoft has already increased Xbox prices multiple times this year globally. Interestingly, in Europe, the Xbox Ally costs the same as an Xbox Series X, both at €599.99.
For comparison, the Steam Deck LCD 256GB version is currently discounted by 20% until 6 October, priced at $320 / £280 / €335.
