Nicolo Savona Joins Nottingham Forest from Juventus on a Long-Term Deal
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Italian defender Nicolo Savona from Juventus, sealing a five-year contract that strengthens their defensive ranks ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 22-year-old, who spent his entire youth career in Turin and made his senior debut for the Italian giants in August 2024, has chosen the City Ground as the next chapter in his career.
Savona arrives with a pedigree. He featured in 40 competitive matches for Juventus last season, including 28 outings in Serie A and seven appearances in the Champions League.
Known primarily as a right-back, the young Italian has shown versatility across the backline, filling in at centre-half and even left-back when required.
His rise didn’t go unnoticed at the international level either. Luciano Spalletti called him up to Italy’s squad for the UEFA Nations League in November 2024, highlighting the defender’s growing reputation.

The move also marks the second time this summer Forest have looked to Juventus for reinforcements, following the earlier arrival of Douglas Luiz. It underlines the club’s intent to blend top-level European experience with their own ambitions in the English top flight.
Earlier in the window, Forest also secured Arnaud Kalimuendo in a £26m transfer, further demonstrating their determination to build a competitive squad.
Speaking about his new challenge, Nicolo Savona said: “I am very excited to be here. It is a new experience for me as a person and a player. It is such a historic club, and the move is a dream come true.
I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at the City Ground, and I will give my all for the shirt.”
Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson welcomed the signing with enthusiasm. “Nicolò gained great experience with Juventus last season, and we’re really pleased he is joining us for his next step.
He is a versatile player who will be another strong option in our defensive unit, and we are convinced he will continue to develop here at Nottingham Forest.
He understands the demands of playing for a big Club and arrives here keen to make an impact straight away. We look forward to welcoming him to our group.”
Forest fans will be eager to see what Savona can bring to Steve Cooper’s side. His blend of Serie A discipline, Champions League sharpness, and youthful hunger could make him a valuable asset in the Premier League’s demanding environment.
From Turin to Trentside, Nicolo Savona’s journey has just taken a bold new step. And at just 22, the story is only beginning.
