A gritty chase. A risky intercept. A hammer in hand. A drug dealer’s morning went from bold to busted.
Metropolitan Police officers, operating in an unmarked car, spotted the suspect riding a moped through the busy streets of West London on 11 June. They tailed him quietly, waiting for the right moment to strike.
When he realised he was being followed, the suspect attempted to flee. But the officers acted swiftly—ramming the moped and blocking his escape route in a tense and dramatic stop.
A quick on-the-spot search revealed:
- 79 wraps of cocaine
- £1,000 in cash
- A hammer, concealed on him
But that wasn’t the end of it. Police later searched his home and discovered a further £9,000 in cash, believed to be linked to his drug-dealing activity. The man has since pleaded guilty to multiple offences and is currently in custody awaiting sentencing.
Caught red-handed, he thought he was slick. But when the police slammed into his moped, game over.
Authorities praised the alertness and fast action of the officers involved, noting how the unmarked unit’s intervention stopped what could have escalated into a dangerous confrontation.
A Met Police spokesperson said the operation demonstrated how serious the force is about cracking down on street-level drug crime and removing weapons from the hands of criminals. Sentencing is expected in the coming weeks.
