WEATHER FORECAST: Sudden Downpours Expected Despite Sunny Start Across UK Regions
Today’s weather forecast brings a mix of sun and unpredictability across the country, with experts warning of sudden downpours and possible thunderstorms later in the day.
The morning kicked off on a bright note, skies mostly clear, with only patches of mild cloud cover drifting lazily above. A gentle southerly breeze kept things calm. But forecasters say: don’t let the sunny start fool you.
In the afternoon, expect the weather to turn. Sudden, intense bursts of rain and thunder may hit isolated areas. It won’t last long, but it could be heavy.
“According to forecasters, in the afternoon, there will be conditions for isolated instability with short-term heavy rain and thunderstorms.”
Temperatures are on the higher side today. Morning lows dipped to around 11–18°C, while the afternoon is expected to heat up considerably, ranging from 28 to a sweltering 36°C in some spots.
Skopje, too, will see similar weather conditions. Clear skies with only light to moderate clouds expected for most of the day. Southerly breezes will linger, but it’s the heat that’ll dominate, with minimums around 16°C, and highs hitting 35°C.
“The Hydrometeorological Administration predicts similar weather tomorrow. Sunny weather with light to moderate cloudiness will prevail, and in the afternoon, there will be conditions for isolated occurrences of heavy rain and thunderstorms.”
Looking ahead? The start of the week might not bring much relief. Monday is shaping up to be turbulent.
“According to the Meteorological Department, on Monday, it will be unstable in many places with heavy rain and thunderstorms, sometimes in the form of a storm with strong winds and isolated hail.”
Tuesday stays on the shaky side too, sporadic rain and thunder remain a risk. But there’s light at the end of the week. From Wednesday, conditions are expected to stabilise.
So, while the sun may dominate early hours, it’s best to carry an umbrella, or at least keep an eye on the skies.
