London, UK – One year on from a tragic South London shooting, the Metropolitan Police have renewed their appeal for information, offering a £20,000 reward as they seek justice for the murder of 26-year-old Jazmel Patterson-Low.
Fresh Plea for Answers in Jazmel Patterson-Low’s Murder
On the night of Friday 11 May 2024, residents in St Rule Street, Nine Elms witnessed a gathering of around 40 people. What began as a typical evening turned deadly in the early hours.
Police believe an altercation broke out, resulting in a firearm being discharged. Jazmel was shot—just once—before being taken to St Thomas’ Hospital by private vehicle. He died shortly before 3am on Saturday 12 May. Despite months of investigations, no arrests have been made.
Specialist Crime Unit Still on the Case
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Unit is continuing its investigation and has issued a renewed public appeal. Officers are seeking:
- CCTV from homes or businesses in the area
- Dashcam footage from nearby vehicles
- Mobile phone recordings from the crowd
All footage can be uploaded directly to the Met Police’s public portal.
£20,000 Reward for Information
A £20,000 reward is being offered for any information that directly leads to the identification, arrest, and successful prosecution of the person responsible for Jazmel’s death.
Those with information are urged to call 101 quoting CAD 884/11MAY24. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or their website.
Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, who leads policing in Lambeth, made a heartfelt appeal: “Jazmel’s family deserve answers. Dedicated police officers, including specialists from across the Met, are determined to do everything we can for them – to bring whoever killed Jazmel to justice, and to protect the community by taking his killer off the streets.
“But we do need even more help from the local community to achieve those crucial aims. If you have crucial information – if you know who fired that gun – please come forward and share that information now.”
It has been a painful year for Jazmel’s loved ones—twelve months with no closure and no one held accountable. The police remain resolute in their mission to bring his killer to justice. But they can’t do it alone. Someone knows something. Now is the time to speak out.
