A man seen shirtless and wearing only patterned shorts is at the centre of a police manhunt after a shocking sex attack on a London Underground train.
British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an urgent appeal for help identifying the individual following a sexual assault that occurred on Monday, 30 June. The incident happened just before 5pm on a Jubilee line train between Southwark and London Bridge, right in the middle of the evening commuter rush.
The suspect, captured on CCTV, is described as a white male, of medium build, with short dark hair, and appears to have a tattoo on his right arm. In the footage, he is notably topless, wearing only black and white patterned shorts.
“Officers would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation,” said a spokesperson from BTP.
The nature of the attack and the boldness of the suspect, moving through a busy commuter train half-dressed, have sparked deep concern. With thousands of passengers using that stretch of the Jubilee line daily, the risk of further incidents cannot be ignored.

The need to locate this individual is critical, not only for justice to be served, but also to restore a sense of safety for passengers who rely on London’s Underground system.
This incident isn’t isolated. Just a day before this appeal, another woman reported being sexually assaulted on the Victoria line between Victoria and King’s Cross.
Figures from Transport for London show a disturbing trend:
- Over 800 sexual assaults were reported on the Tube network in 2024 so far.
- That’s an increase from 745 incidents the previous year.
The urgency to act and to identify those responsible has never been greater. BTP are urging the public to come forward if they recognise the man in the image or have any information that could assist the investigation.

Even the smallest tip could be the key to tracking him down.
Londoners shouldn’t have to travel in fear. The Underground should be a safe space for everyone. But until this man is found, a shadow lingers. Help police bring him in, and make the Tube safer for all.
