Tom Aspinall Weighs in Heavier Than Ciryl Gane Ahead of UFC 321 Showdown in Abu Dhabi

British hustler Tom Aspinall has officially weighed in heavier than rival Ciryl Gane ahead of their blockbuster heavyweight title clash at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi.

The fight, set for hereafter night ahead, marks Aspinall’s first defense of his undisputed crown, and pressures are running high.

Early Friday morning, both fighters stepped on the scales, attesting to what suckers had been waiting for. Aspinall came in at 255 lbs, while Gane registered 247.5 lbs.

That 7.5-pound difference could prove pivotal, with the champion anticipated to use his added size and power to mandate the fight’s tempo from the opening bell.

The weigh-in also showed two athletes in peak physical condition. Gane, chasing gold for the third time, looked sculpted and focused, easily intent on eventually claiming the title that has escaped him.

Meanwhile, Aspinall looked calm, confident, and bulked up since his last bout, carrying a frame that suggested power with purpose.

Behind Aspinall’s imposing form lies a revamped training camp erected around discipline and nutrition.

The Salford native revealed he’s been consuming around 6,000 calories a day, a plan designed to fuel both muscle growth and abstinence.

Combined with a boosted focus on cardio, the result is a heavier but slender interpretation of the champion.

After a 14-month lay-off, many questioned whether “ring rust” might slow him down. Instead, it appears Aspinall has used the time wisely, fine-tuning his physique and sharpening his mindset.

He’s entering this fight not just as a champion, but as a statement of what fidelity and adaptation can achieve.

This fight is further than just a title defense; it’s a test of heritage. For Aspinall, Palm would confirm his dominance in the heavyweight division and open the door to a busy 2026 crusade.

For Gane, it’s redemption. Having fallen short in former title flings, the Frenchman knows this could be his last real shot at UFC glory.

With Jon Jones no longer on the table after failed accommodations, Aspinall has set his sights on keeping his belt and taking on whoever steps coming in line.

Contenders like Jailton Almeida or Derrick Lewis could soon be in the blend, but first, he has to get past a determined and dangerous Ciryl Gane.

Aspinall has been open about the mental side of the fight game. “Don’t want to get beat up,” he admitted earlier this week, a simple but brutally honest statement that captures the raw anxiety and drive that fuels elite fighters.

Come fight night, the question is simple: will the redundant weight help Aspinall overpower Gane, or will the Frenchman’s speed and specialized finesse turn the drift?

Whatever the outcome, one thing’s for certain, the world will be watching as Tom Aspinall looks to cement his place as the undisputed king of heavyweight MMA.
