Oklahoma City’s Winning Streak Rolls OnGilgeous-Alexander Makes History

Oklahoma City Thunder continued their sensational launch to the season, edging past the Phoenix Suns 123- 119 at home on Friday, thanks to a stunning 37-point display from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The win keeps the Thunder on a remarkable roll, extending their winning streak to 11 games and boosting their record to an eye-popping 19-1.

This feat makes them only the fifth platoon in NBA history to claim at least 19 triumphs in the first 20 games of a season, a truly rare achievement in professional basketball.

The Suns, meanwhile, suffered just their third loss in 12 jaunts but remain in the quest. Phoenix went 3- 1 in NBA Cup play and secured a wild-card situation as the Western Conference’s top alternate-place platoon, meaning the two sides will meet again in the knockout round.

Oklahoma City’s Winning Streak Rolls On

The Thunder looked in control for most of the night, opening a 15-point lead beforehand in the fourth quarter. Yet the Suns showed fortitude, closing the gap to a single point with 331 remaining after an important immerse from Oso Ighodaro.

Interestingly, much of Phoenix’s late drive came while Gilgeous-Alexander was on the bench.

When he returned, Gilgeous-Alexander was impregnable. He poured by 15 points over the final six twinkles, showing why he’s one of the league’s brightest stars.

Gilgeous-Alexander Makes History

Gilgeous-Alexander’s sweats also pushed him into the history books. His step- reverse three- pointer in the third quarter brought him to 22 points, extending his band of 20-plus points to 92 successive games, tying Wilt Chamberlain for the alternate-longest band in NBA history.

Oklahoma City did face some injury lapses. Isaiah Hartenstein missed the game with a sore ankle, while Ajay Mitchell left beforehand after sustaining a left knee bruise.

The Suns were led by Collin Gillespie with 24 points, Devin Booker added 21, and Dillon Brooks chipped in 19.

Mark Williams posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Specifically, Oklahoma City dominated off successions, outscoring Phoenix 29- 12 in that order.

With this palm, the Thunder look more confident than ever. Their near-perfect launch, combined with their NBA Cup success, positions them as one of the league’s hottest brigades heading into the knockout stages.
