British speedway ace Tai Woffinden is officially on the road to recovery. The 34-year-old rider, representing the Sheffield Tigers, has been discharged from the hospital and is set to begin rehabilitation following a terrifying crash during a race in Poland.

Woffinden confirmed the news on social media, sharing a heartfelt update with fans. “We’re out of here, last day in hospital. Next stop rehabilitation, let’s go,” he posted, signalling the start of a long but determined journey back to fitness.

After weeks of being hospitalized, Woffinden walked out today and is expected to begin rehabilitation this Sunday. It’s a major step forward after a harrowing few weeks.

Back on 30 March, during a race in Poland, Woffinden was involved in a serious crash that saw him collide with a teammate. The impact was brutal.

He suffered multiple fractures and a chest injury and was urgently airlifted to the hospital. Doctors placed him in a medically induced coma, and he was kept on a ventilator as his condition was stabilised.

His wife, Faye, immediately flew in from their home in Australia to be by his side throughout the ordeal. Her presence, close friends say, has been pivotal in his emotional and mental strength during the recovery process.
