Southall, West London – A man has been charged with murder following the death of 66-year-old Michael O’Donnell, who was discovered at a residential property last week.
Police were called to a home on Samara Drive in Southall at approximately 11am on Wednesday, 23 April. Upon arrival, officers found O’Donnell unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In connection with the investigation, 54-year-old Christopher Donnelly — also of Samara Drive — has been charged with murder and fraud by false representation.
The charge was formally made on Sunday, 27 April. Donnelly appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday, 28 April), where he was remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old woman who was also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail as further investigations continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Michael’s family continue to be supported by officers and have been informed of this development.”
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and appeal for any witnesses or information that may assist the investigation. The motive behind the incident has not yet been disclosed. The quiet residential area of Samara Drive has been left shaken by the tragic discovery. Neighbours described the street as peaceful, with many expressing disbelief over the unfolding events.
Donnelly remains in custody as court proceedings begin. No plea has been entered at this stage.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together the circumstances leading up to O’Donnell’s death. Support is being provided to his grieving family, and updates are expected as the case progresses through the legal system.
