Rangers eye Irving as Mendy deal nears completion
Rangers are pushing forward with plans to bring West Ham midfielder Andy Irving back to Scottish football. Sources suggest the Ibrox side remain highly interested, with Celtic also keeping a watchful eye after making a last-minute approach during the January window.
German Bundesliga clubs, including Cologne, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Stuttgart, have all made contact with West Ham.
Austrian side Sturm Graz are also in the mix, alongside fresh interest from Serie A. The 25-year-old Scotland international has no shortage of admirers.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Rangers have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of French defender Nobel Mendy.
“Real Betis and Rangers have agreed a £2.6m fee, with a 20% sell-on clause, for 20-year-old centre-half Nobel Mendy, who is expected in Scotland on Wednesday to have a medical and sign a four-year contract.”
The coming days could be decisive for both deals. Irving’s future remains uncertain, with competition from home and abroad, while Mendy’s arrival looks almost certain.
For Rangers fans, the transfer window just got a lot more interesting.
