Philippe Clement is reportedly on the verge of making a surprise return to operation, nearly nine months after parting ways with Rangers.
The Belgian trainer, who guided the Scottish side to a League Cup triumph in his opening month, is now poised to take the helm at Norwich City.
Clement’s Departure from Rangers
The 51- time-old has been out of work since February, when Rangers decided to part company after a 15-month stint in Glasgow. Despite early success, Clement plodded to maintain harmonious form, which led to his relief by interim director Barry Ferguson.
According to John Percy, Norwich City are optimistic that Clement will be confirmed as their new head coach today.
Percy tweeted: “Norwich City are hopeful of appointing former #Rangers manager Philippe Clement as their new head coach today.
Clement has been out of management since leaving Rangers in February and is set to take training on Tuesday. Norwich also interviewed Jon Dahl Tomasson & Gary O’Neil #ncfc.”
Looks like Philippe Clement will be the next Norwich City manager.

Clement is anticipated to take over from Liam Manning, who was sacked after seven successive Championship defeats. Norwich presently sits second from bottom in the league after 15 games, leaving the East Anglian club in critical need of a reversal.
First Match and Expectations
Still, Clement will oversee his first game when Norwich travels to face Birmingham City on Saturday autumn, if appointed. Suckers will be hoping the educated Belgian can stabilise the team and help the talebearers climb out of the deportation zone.
With a directorial character erected in Belgium and Scotland, Philippe Clement brings political moxie and European experience. Norwich will be counting on him to reinvigorate their Championship crusade and push for a Premier League return.
