Sydney FC midfielder Maddy Ayson is looking forward to her first Sydney Derby since returning from a brief injury layoff, and she can hardly contain her excitement.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the match, Ayson said, “It feels good to be back… I definitely missed soccer a little bit.”

Her return comes after many weeks on the sidelines, yet Sydney FC’s defence remained gemstone solid, not conceding a single thing in her absence.

Ayson was quick to praise her teammates for their adaptability, adding, “Shout out to all the girls,” admitting the team’s nonstop enhancement and their solid form in recent institutions.

She emphasised the significance of balancing professional commitments with rest time, enjoying relaxed evenings together, watching pictures, or simply participating time-out to strengthen platoon bonds.
