This year’s King’s Birthday Honours 2025 list brings together a trio of remarkable individuals. Among them: David Beckham, Gary Oldman and Roger Daltrey all picked up knighthoods.

Soccer legend David Beckham, aged 50, was recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025 for his services to sport and charitable work. A former Manchester United midfielder and England captain with 115 international caps, Beckham has won league titles across four countries.

  • He received an OBE in 2003.
  • A UNICEF ambassador since 2005.
  • Appointed ambassador for the King’s Foundation in 2024.

Now, Sir David, his wife Victoria will officially become Lady Beckham.

Roger Daltrey, 81, co-founder and lead singer of The Who, receives a knighthood in the King’s birthday honours 2025 for his charity contributions.

He’s been a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust since 2000 and has led its annual Royal Albert Hall concerts for over 20 years. The Who, formed in London in 1964 and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees in 1990, now have just two surviving founding members: Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

Oscar‑winning actor Gary Oldman, 67, is knighted in the King’s birthday honours 2025 for services to drama.
He played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series and earned an Academy Award for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour (2018).

Honours in the UK are traditionally awarded twice yearly: the monarch’s official birthday in June and the New Year. The King’s Birthday Honours 2025 list is compiled by government panels, reviewed independently, and finalised by King Charles.
