Iga Swiatek Powers Into Korea Open Final After Double Triumph
Iga Swiatek demonstrated remarkable stamina on Saturday, advancing to the Korea Open final after dispatching Barbora Krejcikova and Maya Jantchene in successive matches.
It was a rare double-header for the Pole, her first since last year’s Billie Jean King Cup, where she overcame Simona Waltert and Celine Naef on the same day. Swiatek made it look routine once more.
Following her quarter-final exit at the US Open, Swiatek has sent a clear message in Seoul. She crushed Krejcikova 6-0, 6-3 before brushing aside Jabeur 6-0, 6-2 to secure her spot in the title clash.

“Swiatek surged through the opening set against Krejcikova, and while the former Wimbledon champion offered a response in the second, she proved no match for the Pole.”
Rain had forced the holdback of her quarter-final against Krejcikova on Friday, meaning Swiatek faced a tight reversal. Yet she did n’t miss a beat.
Against Joint, who had earlier shocked Clara Tauson to reach the semi-finals, Swiatek was in full command.
The Pole bageled her opponent in the opening set and sealed the palm with a precise blitz at the net.
She’ll now face either Katerina Siniakova or alternate seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in Sunday’s final.
Playing two high-intensity matches in one day is no small feat, but Swiatek’s countenance and adaptability were unmistakable.
Six Grand Slam titles have clearly prepared her for moments like this.
This season alone, Swiatek has claimed 15 sets with a 6-0 scoreline in WTA events—more than double that of Alexandrova, her potential final opponent.
Her 2025 record is equally impressive: 56 wins this year and victories in 21 of her last 23 matches. All that stands between her and her first Korea Open trophy is one final match.
Iga Swiatek is showing why she’s one of the WTA’s most formidable competitors.
