There’s something exciting brewing in Hyde Park. And no, it’s not another summer music gig. This time, it’s darts that’s taking over.
In a few days, the Hyde Park Darts Championship will land right in the heart of London. A massive, open-air darts showdown with top players, celebrity faces, craft beer, and big summer vibes. Yes, really.
For the first time ever, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is bringing its Pro-Am tournament to the Royal Park. Matthew Porter, PDC’s Chief Executive, summed it up perfectly: “It’s an iconic part of British Summer Time and darts is an iconic part of British culture so to bring the two together is a really exciting concept and we can’t wait for what will be a fun, entertaining evening.”
Couldn’t agree more. Darts, summer, and Hyde Park? Feels like a proper British day out.
This isn’t a quiet pub game. The event’s packed with big names. Music star Olly Murs is set to bring his usual energy, fresh from his Essex gig with Justin Timberlake.
He won’t be alone. Roman Kemp (yes, the Celebrity Gogglebox favourite), Joe Swash (busy as ever with his Lidl cooking show), and Dion Dublin (former footballer and TV host) are all part of the fun. Oh, and Joe’s only just been added to the guest list – a last-minute surprise.
Fans can also head to The Summer Garden, where BREW//LDN will be pouring craft beers all day. Picture this – cold pints, sunshine, and darts flying at the bullseye. Perfect.
It’s all going down on Tuesday, 8 July, on the Great Oak Stage in Hyde Park.
- 4:00 PM: The Summer Garden and BREW//LDN pop-up open
- 5:00 PM: Arena entry and Meet and Greets start
- 6:30 PM: The darts action kicks off
- 9:00 PM: It all wraps up
You won’t want to miss this. It’s a dream team.
Luke “the Nuke” Littler – still just 17 – has already made darts history as the youngest World Champion. He’s the lad who knocked out Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace earlier this year. And guess what? Van Gerwen is back and ready for a rematch.
Joining them is Luke Humphries, England’s World Cup of Darts hero, and Fallon Sherrock, the legendary ‘Queen of the Palace’ and the first woman to win at the PDC World Championship.
Big names. Big moments incoming.
Planning to go? Nearest stations include Marble Arch, Bond Street, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, Green Park, Paddington, and Victoria. Always worth checking for delays on the TFL planner before setting off.
There’s still time to secure a ticket.
- AXS: Lawn Standing from £45.45, Gold Circle Seated from £66.05, VIP Diamond View from £111.85
- Ticketmaster: Verified resale tickets from £40.25
- Seat Unique: VIP Terrace packages from £68.86
Some resale platforms like Stubhub, Viagogo, and Vivid Seats have tickets floating around – some as low as £13. Sounds tempting, but be careful.
Hyde Park’s official advice? “American Express presents BST Hyde Park urge all fans to only purchase tickets through official channels and to not to purchase through secondary sites” and they’ve made it clear “please note that tickets booked through unofficial agents or through a private individual may turn out to be fake, stolen or otherwise invalid. Customers with such tickets will be stopped at the entrance to the event and the ticket holder refused entry to the event.”
Translation: stick to official sellers. Don’t risk it.
There’s a strict list of banned items. If you’re heading down, don’t bring:
- Darts (yes, seriously)
- Fireworks
- Aerosols
- Umbrellas
- Balls
- Tools
- Bottles or cans
And leave your football shirts at home. Hyde Park’s policy is clear – no club colours allowed. Also, fans must behave – no shouting, booing, or heckling during matches. Let the players do their thing.
As for bags – nothing bigger than A4 is allowed inside. You can’t bring your own food or drink either, apart from water in a sealed plastic bottle (up to 500ml) or baby food in non-glass containers. Don’t worry though, there’ll be plenty of food and drinks to buy inside.
So, there you have it. Darts, Hyde Park, Olly Murs, celebrity guests, and a buzzing summer crowd. Tickets are still up for grabs via AXS, Ticketmaster, Seat Unique, or carefully selected resale options – but buy smart.
