Gabriel Magalhaes: Arsenal Will Win Big This Season

Gabriel Magalhaes Sends Defiant Title Message Ahead of Arsenal’s New Season

Gabriel Magalhaes isn’t mincing his words. The Arsenal centre-back has confidently declared that “this year, things will be different”, setting a bold tone for the Gunners as they gear up for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Speaking ahead of a high-stakes season, the Brazilian defender’s comments will come as music to the ears of Arsenal supporters who have been waiting—patiently and painfully—for major silverware.

Despite three consecutive second-place finishes in the league and heartbreak in both the Champions League and Carabao Cup semi-finals last term, Gabriel remains defiantly optimistic.

“We’ve let a couple of titles slip through our fingers,” he admitted, but followed it up with a rallying cry: “I think this year, things will be different.”

There’s a new energy around North London. The squad? Deeper. The strategy? Sharper. With some key additions this summer, Arsenal’s transfer window looks anything but idle.

Martin Zubimendi brings poise to midfield. Christian Norgaard adds bite. Noni Madueke injects flair and pace. In goal, Kepa Arrizabalaga joins the fold, and highly-rated Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is expected to be unveiled this week.

Arsenal aren’t just filling gaps—they’re building for dominance. And Gabriel’s impressed. “The club is doing what is best for the players and the manager. They are definitely doing their best to bring the best players that can help us,” he said.

In a market rife with speculation, Gabriel also silenced recent transfer rumours. Despite reports linking him with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian reaffirmed his loyalty to Arsenal by signing a contract extension until 2029.

It’s a statement of intent. Not just from the player—but from the club.

His message is firm: “I am here to win big titles and I do believe that this season will be different. We almost won, but I think this year, things will be different. I have a lot of faith in that.”

Before the Premier League kicks off, Arsenal will test their mettle in pre-season friendlies—against AC Milan on July 23 and Newcastle on July 27—at the Singapore Festival of Football.

Then comes the real test. A blockbuster opening fixture against Manchester United on August 17. The expectations? Sky high. The pressure? Palpable. But Gabriel isn’t backing down. He’s standing tall, front and centre, ready to lead the charge.

For Arsenal fans across the UK and beyond, the message couldn’t be clearer: buckle up—this might finally be their year.
