Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing that took place in broad daylight on Saturday, 7 April, in East Acton. The teenage suspects, who cannot be identified due to legal restrictions, are accused of killing 17-year-old Keiron Charles during a violent altercation on Erconwald Street.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Du Cane Road and Old Oak Common Lane at approximately 1.10pm. Upon arrival, paramedics found two boys suffering from stab wounds. Keiron Charles, a resident of East Acton, tragically died at the scene.

The second boy, also injured, was taken to hospital for treatment and later arrested in connection with the incident.

A third teenager, who fled the scene before police arrived, was located and taken into custody on Friday, 6 April. All individuals involved are believed to be teenagers. The two 16-year-olds have now been officially charged with murder and are expected to appear before Highbury Corner Youth Court this morning.

The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation and have issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or possess any relevant information are urged to contact the Met Police by dialling 0207 175 2206 and quoting reference 3435/05APR. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be submitted to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting Crimestoppers-uk.org.

Police issue heartfelt appeal as investigation continues

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who is leading the investigation, expressed his condolences and appealed for community support: “This is an awful incident in which a teenager has lost his life. The thoughts of everyone in the Met remain with Keiron’s family and loved ones as they begin to come to terms with their tragic loss.”

The shocking nature of the attack—taking place in broad daylight in a residential area—has left the local community reeling. Police presence in the area has been increased to reassure residents and assist in gathering any further information that may aid the investigation.
