Courteeners Set for Monumental Manchester Homecoming at Wythenshawe Park – Joined by The Vaccines, The Coral, and More
Manchester’s very own Courteeners are heading back to where it all began.
The indie gemstone heavyweights have just announced a massive homecoming gig at Wythenshawe Park coming this summer, a festivity that’s shaping up to be one of 2026’s biggest musical events.
After a whirlwind of vended-out arena tenures and caption jubilee triumphs, the band is gearing up to bring their hand swagger and sing-along chorales to the heart of South Manchester.
It’s a return steeped in nostalgia, pride, and the raw energy that has made Courteeners a foundation of the UK’s indie scene for over a decade.
Frontman Liam Fray and the tads are promising a commodity special, a night drenched in atmosphere, community, and that unmistakable Manchester fortitude.
“Expect anthems, nostalgia, and the kind of euphoric crowd only Courteeners can command.”
Still, the supporting bill reads like a love letter to British indie, if that wasn’t enough to shoot suckers into a delirium.
The Vaccines will be performing their iconic debut, What Did You Anticipate From The Vaccines? in full, bringing back the reckless energy of 2011’s golden indie days.
Joining them are Merseyside legends The Coral, fresh from their own resurgence, alongside rising stars Getdown Services and the much-hyped newcomers Girl In The Year Above.
It’s a line-up that spans generations, a full circle moment for suckers who grew up on mid-2000s guitar music and those discovering it again.
The big night lands on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Wythenshawe Park, as part of the Live From Wythenshawe Park summer musicale series.

Official timings will be revealed near the date, but suckers can anticipate an evening bursting with energy, concinnity, and the unmistakable palpitation of Manchester’s music culture.
