Swansea Secure Chelsea’s Ishe Samuels-Smith on Loan
Swansea City have completed the loan signing of Chelsea’s promising left-back Ishe Samuels-Smith for the 2025-26 season.
The 19-year-old was initially set to join Strasbourg this summer on a five-year contract, but the move fell through, bringing him back to Stamford Bridge.
Known for his versatility, Samuels-Smith can also operate as a winger. The England Under-20 international joined Chelsea from Everton in 2023 and has been touted as one of the club’s brightest young talents.
“Ishe will provide valuable cover in a position where we have been short of options,” said Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan.
“He is a hungry young player who is excited to make the most of this opportunity.
He joins us with considerable pedigree at academy and youth international level, and we are pleased to have him with us.”

The deal was finalised late on transfer deadline day. Swansea also confirmed the signing of Celtic striker Adam Idah for an undisclosed fee, reported to be an initial £6m.
The Championship club had been in talks to bring Burnley winger Manuel Benson on board as well, though the move did not materialise.
Meanwhile, Swansea have sent three players out on loan: Ollie Cooper heads to Wigan, Filip Lissah joins Falkirk, and Joel Cotterill moves to Bristol Rovers.
The arrival of Ishe Samuels-Smith adds depth to Swansea’s squad as they gear up for a challenging Championship season. His pace, technical ability, and academy experience are expected to give head coach Sheehan more tactical flexibility.
