Aston Villa Seal £30 Million Deal for Evann Guessand from Nice
Aston Villa have officially secured the services of Evann Guessand in a £30 million deal, marking a significant addition to their attacking lineup.
The 24-year-old striker, who was born in France but represents the Ivory Coast internationally, impressed last season with 12 goals and earned the accolade of Nice’s player of the season. His performances played a key role in helping Nice secure a respectable fourth place in Ligue 1.
This move strengthens Unai Emery’s forward options at Villa Park, where Ollie Watkins has been the sole recognised centre forward until now.
“Guessand’s arrival is Villa’s second first-team signing of the summer,” confirming the club’s ambition to bolster the squad, following goalkeeper Marco Bizot’s earlier transfer from Brest.
This signing signals Aston Villa’s intent to compete more aggressively in the Premier League. With a blend of youthful energy and proven talent, Guessand could become a crucial figure in Emery’s plans moving forward.
